The first half of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season has come to an end, with Lobi Stars topping the table with 34 points.
There were four draws in what was an entertaining weekend full of great team displays and outstanding individual performances.
Here are the players who made TheCable’s team of the week.
Olufemi Kayode [Lobi Stars]

If Lobi Stars are to emerge champions at the end of the season, Kayode will play a key role. He helped his team secure a point at the weekend by saving Sikiru Alimi’s spot kick.
Chinedu Sunday [Kwara United]
He offered a consistent and rock solid performance at the back.

Jamiu Alimi [AkwaUnited]
Alimi was very calm and solid at the back. Enyimba were not the easiest of opponents, but he adequately covered his position on his debut game for the Promise Keepers.
Sodiq Suraj [FC Ifeanyi Ubah]
He attacked and defended with quality, especially in the second half. He never stopped working hard against the determined Go Round strikers.

Christian Madu [Enugu Rangers]
Christian Madu is back to his best form. His long-range goal against Wikki Tourists was simply classy.
Kelly Kester [Akwa United]
The big man wasn’t afraid to take the game to Enyimba as he bombarded their territory. He was also on hand to help his teammates and give cover to the defence.

Arinze Nwangwu [Abia Warriors]
He scored a beautiful goal and contributed to Abia Warriors’ win with an all-rounder performance, defending as much as going forward.

Kelvin Itoya [Enugu Rangers]
Itoya wasn’t scared to wreck the ship when he was introduced in the second half. He combined quantity with quality, offering cover for the defensive line and attacking the opposition. He was rewarded with a great goal.

Michael Ibe [Akwa United]
Ibe was a constant threat for Akwa United with his one-touch approach and deadly passes. He almost snatched the winner late in the game against Enyimba.

Junior Lokosa [Kano Pillars]
What more can be said about this striker? 16 goals this season, including a brace against Heartland. He’s simply unstoppable!
Samad Kadiri [Lobi Stars]
He was instrumental for Lobi Stars against his former team Sunshine Stars, making the most of his dribbles and pace. He scored and was by far the Pride of Benue’s biggest threat.
