Max Air says passengers on its Lagos-Kano flight disembarked from the plane without injuries after the aircraft crash-landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday.
Earlier, TheCable reported that the aircraft lost its landing gear tyre during landing, leading to the incident.
The fire service crew were seen at the scene of the incident, which was said to have occurred at about 10:57pm.
Providing an update in a statement on Wednesday, the airline assured the public that the situation was professionally managed, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated.

“There were no injuries, and the aircraft has since been removed from the runway as of 04:28,” Max Air said.
“As a result, the Kano runway will remain temporarily closed for inspection and clearance, which may lead to some delays in flight operations today, Wednesday, 29/01/2025.”
Max Air apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the passengers for their patience as they await further updates on the runway reopening.

The airline reaffirmed its engineering team’s expertise in managing such situations, assuring passengers that updates on flight schedules would be provided as necessary.
However, in a different statement, Tunde Moshood, the special adviser on media and communications to Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and development, said the runway has been open for normal operations.
On December 5, 2024, an Abuja-bound Max Air aircraft made an emergency landing after one of its engines caught fire.
The incident occurred barely 10 minutes after the plane departed the Maiduguri airport in Borno state.
