Thinking School Africa, a youth organisation, held a five-day empowerment programme for 83 young innovators from 19 states across the six geo political zones of the country, at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja.
The 83 innovators went through principles of innovation designed to enable them map opportunities and create innovative solutions in their areas of interest.
Kingsley Bangwell, CEO of Youngstars Foundation and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, said the organisation is committed to fostering home grown innovations.
“I’m on a long term quest to spark a pandemic culture of fostering home grown innovations and disruptors to make most of the things we consume in the continent of Africa,” he said.

“Thinking School Africa is our deliberate effort to increase the capacity of the African youth to think, innovate and create breakthrough solutions that will accelerate job creation and prosperity in the continent… inventions and innovations is not the prerogative of any special demographics, Africans can and must innovate.”
Kingsley said he would soon unveil a more elaborate strategy to reach and empower one million young innovators in Africa over a period of 10 years.
“The innovators will now embark on the next phase which is a six months fellowship to further develop their ideas under the supervision of the organisation global mentors based in America, Canada, Britain and Africa,” he said.
