Two women — Titi Adewusi and Ugochi Obidiegwu — have developed a game to prepare children for physical school and reduce a spike in COVID-19 cases as school resumes.

According to a social media survey they conducted, 69 percent of parents are not ready to allow their children to resume at a physical school.

The parents worry about the safety of their children in school and the compliance of other children with the safety rules.

To this end, the brains behind 9ijaKids (Titi Adewusi) and The Safety Chic (Ugochi Obidiegwu) partnered to create a Back to School Safety Challenge to prepare children with the basic safety information needed to stay safe.

They created a safety game called, “Safety CheckUp”.

With this game, children have to answer safety questions correctly to acquire high scores and proceed to the next level.

This is to ascertain their mental readiness and equip them with practical tips to ensure they comply with safety guidelines for staying safe in a pandemic even as school resumes.

This game can be played every day to serve as a regular reminder of the cardinal safety principles of handwashing, social distancing, mask use and other related areas.

The game is now live and can be played here.
