The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says its operatives raided a makeshift factory used for the production of suspected fake alcoholic beverages on Lagos Island.
In a statement on Tuesday, the agency said operatives raided the factory in the Oke Arin market on Lagos Island after receiving some complaints.
The statement said three men were arrested during the raid while various counterfeit alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, and packaging materials were seized.
“The main suspect, Mr Tochukwu Henry, confessed to refilling bottles labelled as Rémy Martin with ST-Rémy contents and employing two others to assist in the illicit operation,” the statement reads.
