Three persons working at Emure-Ile comprehensive health centre in Owo LGA of Ondo state have been arrested over an alleged theft of a newborn baby’s placenta.

The family of the baby raised the alarm when the hospital workers allegedly failed to hand over the placenta to them days after the baby’s delivery.

Funmilayo Ijanusi, the paternal grandmother of the baby, alleged that the hospital officials claimed that a dog entered the facility and carted away the placenta.

She also alleged that the hospital personnel persuaded the family to let go of the matter.
