Three Nigerians have been named among the top 10 female wrestlers in the world — in their various wrestling categories.
This is according to the international governing body for the sport of amateur wrestling, United World Wrestling (UWW) rankings, released on Thursday.
Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye has been ranked as the fourth best woman wrestler in the 57kg category of the United World Wrestling.
Adekuoroye is ranked fourth in her category with 46 points.

Blessing Oborududu is ranked 8th in the world in 68kg category with 18 points while Sunmisola Balogun is 9th in 65kg category also on 18 points.
2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Aminat Adeniyi, who also won silver at the African Championships, is ranked 11th in the 62kg category with 16 points, while Mercy Genesis in 50kg category is ranked 10th.
Blessing Onyebuchi in the 76kg category is ranked 9th with 18 points.

Senior African Wrestling Championships silver medalist, Hannah Reuben is ranked 9th in the 72kg category with 16 points.
Rosemary Nweke is ranked 14th in her 53kg category, while Ifeoma Nwoye is also ranked 14 in her 59kg category with 14 points each.
John Ogbonnaya Emmanuel, former world number one is now ranked 10th in his 74kg category with 18 points.
Melvin Bibo is ranked 12th in the 86kg with 16 points while Ekerekeme Agiomor is ranked 15th in his 79kg with 14 points.

In the Greco-Roman rankings, Emmanuel Nworie (72kg) who lost his African title, as he settled for a bronze medal in Tunisia is ranked 15th in the world with 14 points.

The stories of this wrestlers both women and men are big joy to me and i Godspower BISHO also a wrestler of osun state who has been traning for the past 4years plus until early last year but never been to any competition before promise to make history if only a state is willing to sign me and train me for the youth games in preparation for TOKYO 2021.
