Three suspected motorcycle thieves have been set ablaze by a mob in Ayobo area of Lagos state.
According to NAN, the three suspects allegedly stole two brand new motorcycles at Olorunsola area in Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos.
An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, said the suspects had taken to their heels after stealing the motorcycles, but were later caught by the mob.
“Some commercial motorcyclists ran after the suspected thieves and caught up with them along Koloba road, off Alaja road, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos,” the eyewitness said.

“Two were initially caught and were instantly lynched to death, while the other one scampered to safety.
“He was later caught in one of the streets in Alaja and wheeled down to join the other two before they were set on fire.
“The thieves also injured some people while they tried to escape. Those who were injured have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.”

The police were said to have been drafted to the scene of the incident.
When TheCable contacted Muyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos police spokesman, he said he was not aware of the incident but promised to make some findings and provide details later.
The Lagos incident comes hours after a mob set five persons ablaze in Edo state.
The suspects, who were alleged to have kidnapped some persons in Edo on Sunday and were caught, were seized from the custody of local vigilantes and burnt.
