Tiger Woods hospitalised with ‘multiple leg injuries’ after car crash

Tiger Woods, golf legend, was on Tuesday hospitalised after being involved in a single-car accident in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Mark Steinberg, Woods agent, disclosed that he suffered “multiple leg injuries” and will undergo surgery.

It is understood that fire crews had to use the “jaws of life” to rescue the 15-time major winner from his car after it rolled over and suffered major damage.

The Los Angeles County sheriff’s department also confirmed Wood’s accident in a statement on its official Twitter handle.

“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage,” the statement read.

“The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick “Tiger Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.

“The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station.”

The 45-year-old was in California for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest/GOLFTV after serving as host for the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational over the weekend.
