Tinubu, Akpabio to attend Opeyemi Bamidele’s books launch in Abuja

Opeyemi Bamidele, majority leader of the senate, is set to unveil “Leadership Through Communication (Volumes 1 & 2)”, book on political, economic and social issues pertaining to the country.

A statement by his media office on Sunday said the books would be launched on Tuesday, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The event is part of activities to mark Bamidele’s 60th birthday.

According to the statement, President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima would be the father of the day and chairman of the occasion, respectively.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio is the chief host of the event.

Adeyemi Isumonah, a professor of political science at the University of Ibadan, in the foreword, was quoted as saying: “Senator Bamidele’s book is an overview of major processes of leadership and development with a pointed message for major stakeholders in society”.

“In the second volume of the book, issues around Nigeria’s democracy, terrorism and security challenges, the place of law and order, restoring public confidence in the justice system, the road to self-awareness for the Nigerian youth and the anti-graft fight of the Buhari administration are given robust engagements,” the statement reads.

The senate leader was a senior legislative aide (SLA) to Tinubu when he was a senator.
