President Bola Tinubu has been appointed by the African Union (AU) as champion for human resources for health and community health delivery partnership.

Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s spokesperson, said the recognition comes on the heels of Tinubu’s ambitious, innovative, and people-focused efforts in the health sector.

He said the president was appointed on the recommendation of the committee of heads of state and government of Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) chaired by Azali Assoumani, chairperson of the AU.

Ngelale said Tinubu’s appointment is conveyed in a letter sent by the Africa CDC to Nigeria’s foreign Affairs,

“The Tinubu administration is attracting global investments in Nigeria’s health sector for the provision of cutting-edge infrastructure, equipment, and world-class manpower for improved access to quality healthcare by all Nigerians.”
