President Bola Tinubu has appointed executive directors to the river basin development authorities under the ministry of water resources.
A statement on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, said Sowade Adebayo will replace Julius Oloro as the executive director of engineering services at the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
“At the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority, Chucks Erhire steps into the role of Executive Director of Engineering Services, succeeding Dr. Austin Nonyelim Izagbo,” the statement reads.
Onanuga said Tinubu replaced Austin Izagbo with Chucks Erhire as the executive director of engineering services at the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority.

He added that the president also appointed Sunday Hassan as the executive director of planning at the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, while Okibe Timothy retains his position as the executive director of engineering at the agency.
Onanuga said Tinubu urged the new appointees to improve water management and rural development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
On December 19, 2024, the president reconstituted the management of 12 river basin development authorities.
