Tinubu arrives Lagos for Christmas, New Year celebrations

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

A statement on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, said Tinubu was received at airport by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, Obafemi Hamzat, his deputy, and other government officials.

“President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays,” the statement reads.

“Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and cabinet members received the President at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

“Before his departure to Lagos, President Tinubu presented the 2025 budget, totalling N47.9trn, before a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.”

Earlier today, Tinubu presented the 2025 appropriation bill before a joint sitting of the national assembly.

He said the proposed budget reinforces his administration’s roadmap to secure peace, prosperity, and hope for a greater future for Nigeria.

Tinubu also said the economic reforms implemented by his administration are beginning to yield positive results.

The president added that the clear results of gradual recovery, among other indicators, reflect the resilience of the nation’s economy and the impact of “deliberate policy choices” made since he took over power.
