Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, was absent at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference on Monday.
Similarly, Rabiu Kwankwaso, standard bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), also failed to show up at the event.
The 2022 NBA Annual General Conference, with the theme “Bold Transitions”, takes place at the Eko Atlantic City from August 22 to 26.
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Peter Obi, flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), as well as Kwankwaso and Tinubu were invited as panellists to speak on “Democratic Transitions in the 21st Century Nigeria: 2023 and Beyond”.

However, only Obi and Atiku attended in person.
Tinubu was represented by Kashim Shettima, the APC vice-presidential candidate.
Simon Lalong, Plateau governor, and Godwin Obaseki, Edo governor, were also at the conference.

Moyosore Onigbanjo, Lagos state attorney-general, represented the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Kazeem Alogba, Lagos state chief judge, was also in attendance.
Chimamanda Adichie, the award-winning writer, was the event’s keynote speaker.
