Tinubu to launch green initiative in the police

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says President Bola Tinubu will launch the Police Green Initiative on Thursday.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the initiative will be unveiled at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja.

The green initiative aims to encourage environmental sustainability and the transition to renewable energy sources within the operations of the force.

The statement said the event will include a tree planting campaign to protect the environment and mitigate climate change impacts.

“The Nigeria Police Green Initiative is an initiative of the NPF to promote environmental sustainability within our operations and facilities,” the statement reads.

“As well as to reduce the environmental footprint of our activities through the implementation of eco-friendly practices and the adoption of renewable energy sources.

“The launch of this initiative will include various activities such as tree planting, the establishment of green zones within police formations, and the promotion of sustainable practices among police personnel.

“We believe that through this initiative, the Nigeria Police Force can contribute significantly to the global efforts to combat climate change and protect our environment for future generations.”
