Bola Tinubu, standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he will love the voters in Rivers state more if they support him to become president.
Speaking on Wednesday during a rally at the Yakubu Gowon stadium in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers, Tinubu said Nigerians must unite in tackling the issues that are confronting the country, adding that there is dignity in hard work.
“When you make me the president I will love you more,” the former governor of Lagos said.
“Today, I promise you, if we can work together to stop vandalisation of our properties, of our oil pipelines. I am proudly the son of a market woman.

“If your mama sells plantain, don’t be ashamed. Work harder, and make sure we succeed together.
“Let us work hard and build a nation, a nation where peace, unity, stability, joy and happiness will reign supreme. We should be working together, not killing one another.”
The APC candidate also said Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force (NDPSF), is a honest man.

“Asari Dokubo is a very bold and courageous worker — brave and honest,” he said.
“Since I encountered him, he has been very consistent and straightforward.”
On his part, Abdullahi Adamu, national chairperson of the APC, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed in its promise to field a southern candidate.
“PDP does not know the essence of promise. When you make a promise, you keep it. On our part, we are honourable people. We have a full-fledged southerner as our candidate,” Adamu said.

“What the PDP failed to do, we have done. What the party failed to give the south, APC has given the south. So as southerners, please the people of Rivers, play your part by voting APC. Let your votes speak for you.”
