Jimoh Ibrahim, senator representing Ondo south, says President Bola Tinubu will use artificial intelligence (AI) to combat the country’s security challenges.
Ibrahim spoke on Wednesday when he appeared on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme.
The senator said the president earmarked N5 trillion on security because he wants to deploy technology in the warfare against bandits and insurgents.
“Give it to President Tinubu, whether you like him or not, I am not his spokesman, the security index has improved,” he said.

“Before I came on, I checked the security index of Nigeria from the global system. No city or LG is flying Boko Haram flag as of today.
“I am security man, he is going to spend more – he wants to bring in technology to solve the problem of security as opposed to using manpower and that engagement would cost him money.
“He is likely to develop an app that police, army would use – 2025 will be the worst year for criminals. He will use AI, distil it to security personnel to make your life comfortable.

“If he is able to do that with N5 trillion, what is the distilment going to lead to?”
Ibrahim said Nigerians should expect more revenue as the security situation of the country gets better.
