Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, says the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu will help revitalise Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.

Sani said this on Tuesday at a town hall meeting organised by the federal government and the Bank of Industry (BOI).

The meeting was organised to promote the N200 billion presidential intervention fund and loan scheme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SSMEs).

Sani, represented by Ibrahim Muhammad, his special adviser on economic matters, described the initiative as a significant step toward boosting Nigeria’s economy by supporting local entrepreneurs.

“This massive presidential initiative is proof that President Tinubu is a listening leader,” he said.

“Through these stimulus packages, small businesses and manufacturing enterprises will be revitalized, significantly benefiting both sub-national economies and Nigeria as a whole.”

The governor emphasised that Kaduna state is committed to creating a favourable environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are seen as key drivers of job creation, innovation, and economic resilience.

He called on all stakeholders in the state to help raise awareness about the initiative to maximise its impact.

Joy Oghiadomhe, a BOI representative, outlined the eligibility criteria for the grants and loans.

She reiterated the government’s focus on tackling economic challenges by empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as a critical sector for development.

According to NAN, 100 beneficiaries in Kaduna state have already received grants under the scheme.

Caroline Bala, one of the recipients, shared how the financial assistance helped her start a soya milk business after losing her job.

Another beneficiary, Albert Ibrahim, explained that he used the grant to buy herbicides for his farm, resulting in a “bumper harvest.”
