Tinubu’s SSA on vocational education bags doctorate in business management

Abiola Arogundade, the senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship education, has earned a professional doctorate in business management.

A professional doctorate is designed for working professionals seeking to advance their careers and gain credibility by applying research to practical problems in their field, unlike a traditional PhD which focuses on original research and theoretical knowledge.

Arogundade specialised in Business Economics and Finance for the degree awarded by the City University of Paris, France.

In a statement on Thursday, she said the degree strengthens her expertise in economic policy and financial strategy.

The SSA said the doctorate positions her to play a more significant role in government.

Arogundade said the qualification would enhance her ability to drive policies that promote sustainable economic growth, particularly in technical and vocational education.

“As Nigeria prioritises skills development for economic progress, this achievement equips me to contribute effectively to the nation’s policy framework,” she said.

Her enhanced expertise, she said, will bolster efforts in attracting foreign direct investment and fostering financial stability in Nigeria’s education and entrepreneurship sectors.

Arogundade has built a career at the intersection of education, entrepreneurship, and economic policy, advocating for skills development as a driver of national growth.

Before she was appointed a presidential aide, she was involved in initiatives promoting technical and vocational education.

She also worked with government agencies and private sector stakeholders to bridge the skills gap in Nigeria.
