Bodejo said profiling of persons interested in joining the vigilante group is ongoing, adding that the target is to recruit up to 4,000 youths.

He promised that the group will assist in fishing out all criminal elements in Fulani communities and hand them over to the security agencies for necessary actions.

The Miyetti Allah president assured that the group will cooperate with security agencies and adhere to the provisions of the law in carrying out its duties.

He appealed to Nigerians to desist from ethnic profiling of criminals.

“Every ethnic group has criminal elements among them, so if a Fulani man or woman commits a crime, he or she should be treated as a criminal just like others and not a Fulani criminal,” NAN quoted Bodejo as saying.

He said Miyetti Allah is also looking at inaugurating similar vigilante groups in others states across the country.

Speaking at the event, Umar Nadada, Nasarawa commissioner of police, commended Miyetti Allah for establishing the vigilante group.
