‘To boost fight against crime’ — Ododo presents 105 vehicles, motorcycles to security agencies in Kogi

Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, has handed over 105 vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies to aid fight against crime in the state.

Ismaila Isah, the spokesperson to Ododo, said in a statement on Friday that the handing over of the operational vehicles took place in Lokoja, the state capital.

Isah quoted Ododo as saying that his administration is committed to the safety and security of lives and properties in all parts of Kogi.

“In Kogi state here, we have been working in collaboration with security agencies pushing a common goal, the goal of making sure that our people are secured and sleep with their eyes closed,” Ododo said.

“We have a joint task force comprising the police, soldiers, civil defence and navy. The vehicles would be utilised by the joint task force. More are still coming.”

The governor said the new operational vehicles are expected to enhance the efficiency of the state’s vigilante services in all the communities in the 21 LGAs.

He urged residents not to lose their guard at any point in time, adding that the state government remains resolute to overcome the challenges of insecurity in Kogi.

Ododo also commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to end the spate of security challenges in the country.
