The Akin Fadeyi Foundation has announced the launch of the Impact Series, an initiative aimed at celebrating Nigeria’s “unsung heroes” during their lifetime.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, Akin Fadeyi, the foundation’s executive director, said the series will be a “digital footprint celebration of living icons” across different sectors.
He said the personalities to be celebrated have contributed significantly to Nigeria’s growth and development.
Fadeyi said the impact series seeks to counter the culture of celebrating Nigerian icons and their impact stories after their death.

He noted that the series will include “milestones, acknowledgement of extraordinary accomplishments and fostering a culture of appreciation”.
He said the initiative, which will kick off with a spotlight on Afe Babalola’s impact story, would be devoid of ulterior motives and PR-seeking individuals.
Fadeyi added that a poverty alleviation programme to empower economically disadvantaged people would be featured in the series.
