It not clear why the governors are part of Ganduje’s team or the role they may be playing in the campaign.

Some Twitter users commenting on the post said they do not want foreign interference as the country is preparing to go to the polls.

“But we don’t want foreign countries interfering in our election??? Governors from another country in APC attire and attending APC event?? That’s a new one,” one Nwosa EA tweeted.

In separate statements, the US and UK threatened to ban anyone who interferes with Nigeria’s election.

“We will not hesitate to consider consequences – including visa restrictions – for those found to be responsible for election-related violence or undermining the democratic process. Under U.S. immigration law, certain violations may also lead to restrictions on family members,” the US mission in Nigeria had said.
