Tony Philmoore has been re-elected as the director of the Professional Golfers’ Association of Nigeria (PGAN).
He won the election unopposed at the association’s annual general meeting held in Port Harcourt, Rivers, on Wednesday.
Philmoore was first elected in 2021 and will lead the association for another two years until 2025.
Speaking on Thursday, the returning PGAN director said re-election was an endorsement by the association members for the momentum generated in his first term.

Philmoore, however, said his second term on the board would begin with reconciliation and renewed visionary policies.
“We have made progress on many fronts, and that came with so much sacrifice, hard work and a dedicated team. Above all, we have set up professional golf as one of the most promising sporting careers in Nigeria,” he said.
“We can’t afford our collective future to be fractured for misunderstanding and injustice. I will galvanise professional golf in Nigeria and reorganise the system to attain our full potential.”

On his part, Johnbull Dangofa, who also got re-elected as the tournament director, said his mission for the new tenure is to engineer the “most boisterous” tournament calendar in Nigeria.
“My goal at this point is to drive the calendar in the next two years to be the most boisterous in the country. We have the talent and facility, but we need the platforms. I think we have set the tone for this in the last two years.” he said.
Uchenna Eze retained his role as the operations director, while Aminu Baba was elected finance director and Musa Ayuba and Segun Obamuwe won their position as ex-officio.
