Tottenham Hotspur have announced the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santos — after just four months and 17 games as head coach.
The club broke the news in a statement released on its website on Monday.
The 47-year-old Portuguese was dismissed alongside members of his coaching staff.
“The Club can today announce that Nuno Espírito Santo and his coaching staff Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias have been relieved of their duties,” the statement read.

“Fabio Paratici, Managing Director, Football, said: ‘I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed, and I regret that we have had to take this decision.
“‘Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.’
“A further coaching update will follow in due course.”

Nuno, who was appointed as Jose Mourinho’s replacement in the summer, has not produced the type of football that births convincing results.
Under his watch this season, Tottenham has lost half of their English Premier League (EPL) matches which sent them sitting eight on the league table after ten games.
Last Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United was the last straw for the cub’s hierarchy, as they called time on the tenure of the former Wolves manager at the White Hart Lane.
