TPIR Nigeria set to strengthen family bonds, communal entertainment

TPIR Nigeria is set to launch a new game show to strengthen family bonds and foster communal entertainment.

In a statement on Friday, the organisers said ‘The Price is Right Nigeria’, a new game show, will make its debut on television across the continent.

TPIR is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and the ability to unite people. This resonates with Nigerian culture, which often emphasises strong family bonds and communal entertainment.

According to the production outfit, Genesis Studios, TPIR is a world-class game show that engages and entertains the entire family.

Mercy Ebunuta Abua, head of corporate communications and sales for TPIR Nigeria, said its production is more than just a game show, adding that it is a cultural phenomenon waiting to happen.

“Nigeria’s entertainment industry is constantly evolving and TPIR’s arrival could further diversify the programming options available to viewers,” the organisers said.

“The show no doubt offers viewers the chance to win life-changing prizes, taking into consideration that Nigerians aspire for better living standards, the show could provide a source of entertainment and hope.

“Another important aspect of the TPIR is that it boasts of a loyal fanbase across generations. The Nigerian adaptation allows brands to target a specific demographic with high purchase power and a love for interactive entertainment.

“The 52 episodes a season game show would be aired once weekly with repeat episodes on broadcast stations such as AM Family and Showcase on DSTv, GoTv, TVC, STV and WAPTv.”

Abua said the TPIR taps into the Nigerian spirit of competition, celebrates everyday skills, and provides a platform for brands to connect with a vibrant and engaged audience.

“Products featured on the show become part of the game, seamlessly integrated into the pricing challenges, adding that this creates an organic and engaging product placement opportunity for brands. That is why the time is right for The Price Is Right in Nigeria,” Abua said.

David Olatubosun Olaegbe, executive producer of the show, said TPIR Nigeria is quite different from every other show as it is loaded with opportunities for contestants who come on the show as well as brands that identify with the show.

On her part, Anthonia Adeniyi, project manager/series producer, said that running a good television production requires a high level of attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a team of skilled professionals.

Adeniyi further noted that it is crucial to have a clear vision for the show and work hard to ensure that vision is brought to life, adding that as a producer, striving to build a team of professionals who are not only experienced but also passionate about their craft is the goal.
