At least three soldiers attached to Operation Pulio Shield, the joint task force in the Niger Delta, were killed in two different accidents which occurred in Bayelsa and Delta states on Friday.
A source told TheCable that the Bayelsa incident occurred in Yenagoa, the state capital, and one soldier was involved in the accident.
The source said the soldier died before help could come his way.
The other accident was said to have around the creeks of Egwa 1 near an Shell flowstation in the Warri south west local government area of Delta state.

A military source said security personnel were on patrol when the tragic incident occurred.
The source added that about 10 soldiers were in the boat, revealing that while two died, others who sustained injuries had been taken to the hospital.
Isa Ado, spokesman of the JTF, could not be reached for comments, as he neither answered his phone, nor responded to the text message sent.

The tragedy is a setback to the military which has lost some of its personnel to oil vandals and pirates.
