Man gets into a scuffle with driver in viral video

A video purportedly showing Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the house of representatives, assaulting a Bolt driver, has gone viral.

The incident occurred on October 27 in Maitama, Abuja.

In the video, Ikwechegh, who represents Aba North and South federal constituency, is seemingly seen in a heated exchange with the driver, whom he accused of disrespect for asking him to approach the car to receive his package.

The lawmaker is heard threatening to “make the driver disappear”.

The video shows the legislator admitting to slapping the driver twice and threatening further assault.

“Do you know where you are? Do you know who I am?” Ikwechegh reportedly said, to which the driver responds: “I don’t want to know, just pay me and let me go.”

“So, you think I will give you my money with the way you have spoken to me?”

The driver retorts with: “I did a job for you and you have to pay me, sir”.

“You will not see a penny from me with this great level of disrespect. You’re very stupid, very, very stupid,” the lawmaker cussed.

The lawmaker then puts a phone call across to someone he refers to as “madam”.

“Madam, who is this stupid boy that you sent to my house? Who is this foolish boy that you sent to my house? How can this stupid idiot come to my house and tell me I’m supposed to come to his car and pick up what I’m buying from you?” he said.

“Can you imagine this rat? I can make this man disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing would happen. I’m not going to give this silly boy one naira of my money.

“You have been insulting me, and I’ve been quiet. I pray that you insult me.

“I’m not going to call my policemen to beat you up. I will beat you up. I will show you that I’m a big brother to you. I will slap the hell out of you, lie you down, and lock you in my generator house.”

The video ends with the aggressor attempting to grab the driver’s phone.
