TRENDING VIDEO: Reno Omokri leads protest to ‘harass Buhari out of London’

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has led a group of people to protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical trip to the UK.

The protest is taking place in front of Abuja House, London.

Omokri, in a series of tweets on Friday, said the protesters were at the Abuja House to harass Buhari out of London.

He lamented the inadequacies of Nigeria’s health sector and also criticised the president over the Lekki shooting during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos.

Similarly, Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, posted a video of a man holding a placard that reads “Buhari must go! #OccupyNigeria”.

The man, who wore a #RevolutionNow beret, said: “Buhari go home! We are outside here in Abuja house. Nigerians are calling on Buhari to go home.

“Our people are suffering while you come to the UK and enjoy the benefits of taxpayers that you did not look after. Buhari, go home.”

Buhari has embarked on several trips to the UK to seek medical care since he assumed office.

In 2019, the president had lamented that Nigeria was losing about N400 billion to medical tourism annually.

He later said frequent medical trips abroad must stop because they are not beneficial to the country.

But despite this, on Tuesday, the president departed Nigeria for London for a medical check-up.

The trip is expected to last for two weeks.

A report by TheCable showed that the president has spent one hundred and seventy-one days on medical vacation in the UK.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had also tackled the president over the recent trip, describing it as a ripple effect of his administration’s failure to fix Nigeria’s healthcare system.

  1. No no, that’s very bad. How can he lead some protest to harass Buhari out of London? This is not the kind of thing we want in Nigeria, All we want is peace, please.

  2. Good one Reno and other Nigerians present. God bless you all abundantly. This nonese from FG must stop. I lost a my dear brother to the same bad health care system they created for us. I almost lost my life too to the same if not that I had property to sell to foot my medical bills here in Nigeria. Thanks brothers and well done. Nigeria our country must work again.

  3. He should return to Nigeria to receive medical attention at the “high quality” hospital in Abuja which boasts several “state-of-the-art” facilities. This will save the country from losing so much to medical tourism. The doctors in Nigeria should only attend to him after the last kobo of every doctor is paid and all their demands are met.
