A video of a Nigerian campaigning for Hillary Clinton, candidate of the Democratic Party in the US presidential election, is currently circulating on social media.

Though the location and the time when the footage was shot are not known, the utterances of the speaker suggest that he is in the US.

Seated behind the wheels of a car, the man who is conversing in native Ijesha dialect, appeals to his people to elect Clinton.

Ijesha is a sub-ethnic of the Yoruba tribe. Its people are predominantly from Ilesha in Osun state.

The three minutes, six seconds video opens with the speaker sipping a drink (it’s not clear if he was taking water or wine).

Towards its end, he reproduces a local Nigerian song, using the name of Hillary, who he hilariously referred to as ‘Hullary’.

“Hello my brother, good morning. May this day bring us joy. I didn’t come here for two reasons. Don’t think I am here because of football,” he spoke in his dialect.

“I am here for the forthcoming US election. I want to quickly advise you people. You who have the Green Card, please don’t joke with your future, so that you won’t regret.

“Early voting started on the 24th, but if you have not voted, please don’t waste your vote, come out and vote. They said many blacks are not partaking in this election, please come out on Tuesday and vote. Those of you who are government workers will be given holiday for election. Those of you in Maryland.”

He advised his people not to leave anything to chance, saying when given holiday they should not waste it but vote, and they should cast their ballots for Hillary.

Donald Trump and Clinton are running neck-to-neck in the race, but the Democratic nominee has an edge. Results of the latest poll released by CNN show her leading with three points. She has 45, while her rival trails behind with 42.
