Tribunal summons 2 perm secs for failing to declare assets

The Code of Conduct tribunal (CCT), on Thursday ordered Bala Usman and Mamud Abubakar, two permanent secretaries from Adamawa, to appear before it over charges bordering on non-declaration of assets.

Danladi Umar, chairman of the tribunal, issued the summon in Abuja at the resumed trial of the duo.

“The accused persons must appear before this tribunal on November 16,” he said.

Earlier, Aliyu Ahmad, counsel to the accused persons, urged the tribunal to adjourn to give him time to study an application filed by the prosecutor.

Ahmad explained that he had filed a no case application and served same on the prosecutor.

He said the prosecuting counsel, Peter Danladi, had also filed a reply to his no case application and would need time to respond.

Danladi did not oppose the application for adjournment. He apologised for the delay in filing and serving the defece counsel with the reply.
