Personnel of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), the special military task force, have arrested 13 suspects for kidnapping, banditry, cattle rustling and other criminal offences in Plateau, Kaduna and Bauchi states.
James Oya, OPSH spokesperson, announced the development in a statement on Tuesday.
Oya said OPSH recorded the breakthrough during operations conducted between October 2 and October 9.
“Between October 2 and October 9, our troops arrested 13 criminal suspects in connection with kidnapping, prison break, peddling illicit drugs and rustling,” NAN quoted Oya as saying.

“We also recovered illegal arms and ammunitions.
“Troops recovered a total of 279 cows and six sheep over destruction of crops on farmlands across Bokkos, Mangu, Riyom and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Plateau and Kaduna states, respectively.”
Oya further said within the period under review, troops of OPSH also foiled attempts by gunmen to attack Washina and Razak communities in Mangu and Barkin Ladi LGAs of Plateau state.

He called on residents of the areas to support the troops in stemming criminality and to be law abiding at all times.
He also assured residents that OPSH would continue to be fair and just to all, while keeping communities safe from bandits and kidnappers.
