Troops arrest two suspects for ‘supplying food, drugs to terrorists’ in north-east

Troops of the joint task force in the north-east have reportedly arrested two “high-profile” logistics suppliers for terrorists operating in the region.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication in the Lake Chad region, said the suspects were apprehended during a special operation on August 24.

Makama said the names of the two terrorists’ collaborators are yet to be disclosed.

An intelligence source told the publication that the suspects confessed they had been supplying logistics to the terrorists for more than two years.

The source said they often supplied food, pharmaceuticals, vehicle spare parts and other commodities.

“The arrested suspects provided UBA account details of the Dapchi vigilante commander to support their claims,” Makama said.

“They also revealed the identity of other accomplices, including Auwalu and Habibu (Kano driver), Abdulwahab (terrorist storekeeper in Jimbam), and Mustapha (coordinator of movements).”
