The Kaduna government says officers of the operation safe haven (OPSH) of the Nigerian army, have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of Haruna Kuye, district head of Atyap chiefdom, Zangon Kataf local government area of the state.
Kuye and his son were killed after gunmen invaded their residence on November 17, while his wife and daughter were injured by the assailants.
A statement by Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna commissioner for internal security and home affairs, noted that the suspects — identified as Goma Maisamari and Daniel Maisamari — were arrested at Kampani Amawa village in Zagon Kataf LGA.
Other persons suspected to be involved in the killing are said to still be on the run.

Also, two children, Rebecca Andrew and Clement Andrew, who were declared missing after a reprisal attack at Ungwan Bido in Jema’a LGA have been found.
According to the statement, Peter Danjuma Averik, chairman of Jema’a LGA, confirmed the recovery of the two minors.
“Governor Nasir El-Rufai commended the military for the progress in investigating the killing of Mr. Haruna Kuye and urged security to sustain the tempo by apprehending the suspects that at still at large,” the statement reads.

“The Governor also expressed his delight at the recovery of the two children that were missing in Ungwan Bido.
“Security agencies are maintaining ground and air patrols on the Kaduna-Abuja Road which stretches to Kachia, Chikun and Kagarko local government areas.
“Similar patrols are being conducted on the Kaduna-Kachia Road and in locations in Igabi, Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas.”
