Troops capture another wanted suspect

A day after it announced the arrest of an alleged Boko Haram member in Abuja, the Nigeria army says it has arrested another insurgent whose name is on the list of the 100 suspects declared wanted.

According to Sani Usman, spokesman of the army, the suspect, who is a Cameroonian, was apprehended at a checkpoint in Adamawa.

“Today in the morning, another declared wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Ishaku Wardifen, was nabbed by vigilant troops of 23 brigade special battalion at a checkpoint in Maiha, Adamawa state,” he said in a statement.

“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspected terrorist is a Cameroonian citizen. Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists wanted list released by the Nigerian last month, shows that he clearly resemble the suspect on serial number 22 on the list.

“The suspect has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution.

“Nigerian army would like to once more call on all citizens and all well meaning residents of our country to continue to be more vigilant and security conscious to enable us rid our great nation of the menace of terrorism and insurgency.”

On Sunday, one Chindo Bello, was nabbed at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja, while attempting to board a flight to Lagos.
