Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have reportedly repelled a coordinated attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits on Sutti village and Sutti Kwarakka ward in Tangaza LGA of Sokoto state.
The incident occurred on Monday, according to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region.
The publication quoted intelligent sources as saying that about 40 bandits on motorcycles stormed the communities, firing sporadically with armed rifles.
Makama said troops forced the attackers to retreat and flee into the bush after a heavy gun fire.
