The troops of operation Fansan Yanma have killed Kachallah Babangida, a key bandit leader, and destroyed several camps during clearance operations in Zamfara state

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on security and counter-insurgency in the Lake Chad region, troops of the Nigerian Army and air force conducted the raid on March 10 in Kaura Namoda LGA.

The publication said the troops launched an early morning raid on Dan Sa’adi, a notorious bandit stronghold at the foot of a high ground, where a gun duel ensued.

Makama said the troops overpowered the bandits with combined ground and aerial assaults, adding that damage assessments confirmed the death of several bandits, including Babangida, a key fighter.
