Troops of the north-west operation Fansan Yamma have reportedly killed several terrorists, including Ma’oli, a notorious kingpin, in Zamfara state.
In a statement on Friday, Abdullahi Abdullahi, media coordinator of the operation, said Ma’oli was infamous for imposing illegal levies on communities.
He added that the operation took place on December 26 in Maisheka village, near Kunchin Kalgo town, Tsafe LGA.
“The area is one of the local communities that had suffered under Ma’oli’s reign of terror,” he said.

“Ma’oli was notorious for imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other surrounding areas of Bilbis in Tsafe LGA.”
Abdullahi said the operation was initiated in response to intelligence reports of terrorists on motorcycles operating in the area.
He added that the death of Ma’oli has brought relief and excitement to the locals.
