Troops of Sector 3 Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have reportedly killed three Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the insurgents were killed on Sunday.

The troops encountered the terrorists during a fighting clearance operation between the boundary of Lake Chad and Malam Fatori in Abadam LGA of Borno.

An intelligence source was quoted as saying the insurgents were neutralised by troops of 86 battalion of the MNJTF.

The injured officer was taken to the military hospital in Maiduguri, the Borno capital, for treatment.

TheCable had earlier reported how about 300 Boko Haram insurgents were killed by ISWAP fighters during a clash between the two terrorist groups.

Military operatives have recently intensified efforts in the fight against terrorists in the north and other parts of the country.

On March 15, about 70 ISWAP fighters including a high-ranking commander were reportedly killed during a series of airstrikes by a joint military operation in Borno.
