The Lagos state government has reportedly filed fresh charges against Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, suspected billionaire kidnapper better known as Evans.
This is coming shortly after he was arraigned alongside five others on an amended two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.
At the arraignment, he had pleaded “not guilty,” despite initially admitting guilt when first arraigned on August 30.
In the new charges said to be filed against the suspect, he is accused of various crimes ranging from attempted kidnap and murder, Channels TV has reported.

Evans, the ‘notorious’
Dubbed the “most notorious kidnapper” in the country, he was arrested on June 10 by policemen of the Lagos state command.
Since his arrest, he has reportedly confessed to kidnapping numerous persons from whom he collects as much as “millions of dollars” in ransom.
The police have alleged that he committed murder during some of the kidnap incidents.
But his lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, says Evans is innocent of the crimes he is alleged to have committed, accusing the police of forcing his client to admit guilt.
