The former governor of Anambra and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) had tweeted on Tuesday that he will be in Egypt for three days.

“In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors.”

While some of his supporters praised the move, it didn’t go down well with others who felt the presidential candidate should be in Ekiti, campaigning for the party’s candidate as the the state prepares for the June 18 governorship election.

“Heard@PeterObi traveled to Egypt to learn how to fix Education/Power problems, this is exactly the problem with unprepared candidates. It is 9 months to election & a two-term gov. & former VP candidate want to go learn something from Egypt in 3 days? Wow! #WeCantContinueLikeThis,” Omoyele Sowore, activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), tweeted.
“Honestly, Peter Obi is the candidate Nigeria needs. He is the candidate absolutely interested in fixing Nigeria. He is intentional about making Nigeria work. You can’t hate him. #PeterObi4President #PeterObi #PeterObi2023,”  Kelechuku Iruoma, award-winning freelance journalist, tweeted in support of Obi.
