Malik Obama, half-brother of Barack Obama US president, believes Donald Trump, Republican party nominee, is sufficiently capable for the country’s highest office.
Having been invited by Trump to the last debate of the election campaign, Malik says his host is the anointed one.
Trump and Hillary Clinton, Democratic party nominee, will lock horns Wednesday night and will hope to perform better than the last debate which was widely deemed as petty, lacking depth and starved of substance.
The older Mr Obama will be at the Las Vegas venue of the debate, watching, and egging on Trump.

“I’m excited to be at the debate. Trump can make America great again”, Malik told New York Post.
Unaffected by the allegations of sexual impropriety levelled against Trump, Malik was quoted to have said mainstream media is biased.
“I don’t believe them. Why didn’t they come forward before?”, Malik said, while he also criticised Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.

Malik, an American and Kenyan citizen, noted that Clinton and his brother made the crisis in the Middle East worse.
“Check out the situation in Libya now,” he added.
He also grumbled about Obama’s reception of him when he went visiting in August 2015, describing the experience as not “very warming and loving”.
“As usual, it was a hands-off kind of thing, very businesslike, very formal,” Malik said.
