Donald Trump’s conversation with Elon Musk was predictably laced with diatribes at Kamala Harris, his opposite number in the race for the White House.
In the chat which was held on X in the early hours of Tuesday, Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are at the “top of their game”.
The former US president acknowledged their hardline stance but said they possess a “love” for their countries even though it is “a different form of love”.
According to the former president, Jong Un told him that he doesn’t like US President Joe Biden.

Trump attributed major geopolitical issues to Biden’s presidency, claiming that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he were president, because of his strong relationship with Putin and his ability to influence the Russian leader to avoid conflicts.
“I got along with Putin very well, and he respected me,” Trump said.
“When they see Kamala or sleepy Joe, they can’t believe it.”

Trump also hurled insults at Harris at every opportunity, calling her “incompetent” and “a radical left lunatic” — before praising her looks on a recent Time magazine cover.
“She looks like the most beautiful actress ever to live,” he said.
“It was a drawing, and actually she looked very much like a great first lady, Melania. She didn’t look like Kamala. But, of course, she’s a beautiful woman.”
The former president also criticised his rival’s immigration record, claiming she oversaw a huge rise in unauthorised crossings after being put “in charge” of the Mexico-US border.

The conversation kicked off late and was marred by technical glitches.
Musk blamed “a massive DDoS attack on X” for the glitches.
Distributed denial of services attacks (DDoS) attacks are attempts to overload a website to make it hard to use or inaccessible.
The tech mogul also offered to help in Trump’s future administration as a member of a “government efficiency commission”.

“I’d love it for you. You’re the greatest cutter,” Trump said, referring to Musk’s mass layoffs when he took over X.
More than 1.2 million people joined the chat live.
