President Barack Obama of the United States says Donald Trump, frontline Republican presidential candidate, will not become the president of the US.
Obama said he has a strong belief that the American people will not vote for Trump because they realise that being president is “a serious job”.
“I continue to believe that Mr Trump will not be president. And the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people,” he said in response to a question at an economic summit in California.
“It’s not hosting a talk show or a reality show, it’s not promotion, it’s not marketing, it’s hard.

“It’s not a matter of pandering and doing whatever will get you in the news on a given day.”
Responding, Trump who said it was a “great compliment” to be criticised by the president, added that Obama was lucky that he did not contest in 2012.
He said he would have stopped Obama from getting a second term in office.

“This man has done such a bad job, he has set us back so far. For him to say that is a great compliment, to tell you the truth,” Trump said.
“You’re lucky I didn’t run last time when Romney ran, because you would’ve been a one-term president.”
The election campaign of the billionaire businessman has continuously made headlines, for controversial remarks and policies.
Trump said he would deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, build a wall on the southern border paid for by Mexico and that Muslims should be stopped from entering the US.
