Wisconsin state to recount votes after Trump’s win

The election commission in Wisconsin says it received a request to recount votes won by Donald Trump, republican nominee in the state.

Trump was able to get 290 Electoral College votes as against Clinton who scored 232.

Some academics have urged Hillary Clinton, democratic nominee, to contest the election results which they say “may have been hacked”.

They argued that an investigation of the election results is needed since the Russian government has been accused to hacking into the Democratic National Committee.

While Pennsylvania’s deadline for vote recounts is on Monday, Michigan’s is Wednesday.

Trump’s team is yet to make a comment on the vote recounts.

However, a win by Clinton in Wisconsin only accounts for 10 electoral college votes but she would have won the presidency if she was able to win Michigan and Pennsylvania which has 16 and 20 votes respectively.

Furthermore, there there has been no report of hacking or manipulation of the election.
