Two killed as train collides with commercial bus in Lagos

At least two persons were killed after a commercial bus collided with a train in Lagos on Friday.

The tragic incident occurred at Odejobi junction on the Old Abeokuta road.

The passenger train collided with a parked commercial bus, forcing three hanging passengers to fall off the moving train at crossing at Pen Cinema, Iju Road.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), one adult sustained injuries and was transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

He added that those who lost their lives had been taken to the mortuary by the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SHEMU).

Adesina Tiamiyu, general manager of LASEMA, advised people to consider safety before boarding train and also desist from hanging on moving train to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
