The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) says two more girls trafficked for prostitution in Ghana have been rescued.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NiDCOM director of media, public relations and protocols unit, said the girls were rescued on Monday.
He said the girls were rescued by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Ghana.
The two girls, one from Edo and the other from Lagos, live in Lagos.

Narrating their ordeal, one of them said they were trafficked into prostitution under the guise of working as sales girls in supermarkets.
She said their captor made them swear an “oath” that would make them go mad if they escaped.
The rescued girl added that their phones were seized and they were also threatened with the release of their nude pictures and videos.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, NiDCOM CEO, said the girls, who are now in safe custody, are giving useful information aimed at tracking down their traffickers.
Dabiri-Erewa added that arrangements will be made to get them back to Nigeria and handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
The NiDCOM CEO reiterated her call for concertive efforts in combating human trafficking in all ramifications.
Earlier this month, a series of videos of teenage girls between the ages of 15 and 18 lured into prostitution in Ghana went viral on X.
