Two OOU students die in Ogun car crash

The Ogun police command says three persons, two of whom are students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), have lost their lives in a motor accident.

The car crash, the police command said, occurred along Ilisan-Ago-Iwoye road in the state.

A statement on Saturday by Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson in the state, said the incident occurred at about 3:30 pm on Friday.

Odutola said the accident occurred after the driver of an Opel car, in full pelt, lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the bush.

The police spokesperson noted that the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the morgue and the vehicle was taken to the police station.

She urged motorists to obey traffic rules and drive responsively, especially during the festive period.

“A male passenger, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, but is believed to be a student from OOU, died at the scene,” Odutola said.

“His body has been taken to the mortuary of General Hospital Ijebu Ode.

“Two female students from Olabisi Onabanjo University —Dada Oluwanifesimi, 18, and Miracle Daniel, 19, were rushed to Love and Care Hospital; but unfortunately died while receiving treatment.

“The vehicle has been recovered and taken to the  station.”
