Two permanent secretaries die in Zamfara after ‘brief illness’

Yawale Dango and Ahmed Sale, two permanent secretaries in Zamfara state, are dead.

This is coming less than two weeks after Mohammed Ahmad Asha, emir of Kaura-Namoda in the state, died of suspected COVID-19-related complications.

According to The Punch, while Dango was said to have died on May 6, Sale died on Tuesday; the two government officials were reported to have passed on after brief illness.

Dango worked at the office of the head of service, while Sale was at the ministry of housing and urban development.

They have been buried according to Islamic rites.

Zailani Baffa, special adviser on media and publicity to Bello Matawalle, the state governor, described the officials as committed gentlemen.

He prayed for God “to grant the deceased the most exalted paradise and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.”

“They were hardworking and committed gentlemen who dedicated themselves to the services of their dear state,” he said.
