There has been another attack on a police station in Abia state, adding to the rising list of vandalised security facilities in the south-east region.
On Monday, unknown gunmen set ablaze the Ubakala divisional police station in Umuahia south LGA of the state.
Two police officers were said to have been killed during the attack.
Godfrey Ogbonna, spokesman of the Abia police command, confirmed the incident.

Ogbonna said the hoodlums attacked the station with explosives around 12:10am.
He said security operatives were deployed to the station to repel the assailants.
“In the process, we lost two of our men,” he said.

Residents said the midnight attack triggered fear in the community as they heard sudden gunshots and what appeared to be an explosion.
The latest development adds to the growing list of attacks on police stations in the state.
On May 9, a police station located in Trademore estate in Ubani area of Abia was attacked by unidentified gunmen.
Four days later, hoodlums set vehicles ablaze when they attacked a police station in Ikwuano LGA of Abia.

About a week ago, hoodlums burnt the office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NLDEA) in Amaekpu in Ohafia LGA.
Gunmen also razed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Ohafia.
Meanwhile, the police has said investigation is ongoing to arrest perpetrators of the attacks.
